Nintendo 64 Pikachu Edition

The Nintendo Pikachu edition was released as a special edition of the Nintendo 64 in 2000.

The console was introduced in the hight of the Pokemon craze. It had to save the Nintendo 64 which lacked behind in marked share compared to the Playstation and even the Sega Saturn (Japan).

The console is probably the most drastic remodelling of the Nintendo 64, with the whole right side stretched to fit a yellow Pikachu model on that side. The rest of the console is blue except some stickers depicting other Pokemon designs. The power button is displayed as a Pokemon ball, which yellows easily by the sun. The reset button is Pikachu’s foot.

The console is much sought after by collectors, but is not very rare.
