The Gundam Char is a variant on the Nintendo GameCube. It was only released in Japan in cooperation with the Japanese toy en game maker Bandai. Bandai showed the GameCube for the first time during the 2003 Tokyo Game Show. They also introduced a matching Char GBA SP.

The name ‘Char Aznable’ (aka “The Red Comet”), is a character from the Gundam universe’s Duchy of Zeon, which is very populair in Japan. This GameCube was therefore mainly targeted on Japanese consumers.

The GameCube Char came with a matching controller, Gundam Char Figurine and a Gameboy Player. Although, the Gameboy Player had a slightly darker red colour. The Gundam Char GameCube is a rare console. Only between 5000 and 10.000 were made. Furthermore it was only released in Japan, making it hard to come by for European and US collectors.
